Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin Headlines August OTT Premieres

Akhil Akkineni’s action drama Lenin is set to make its digital debut on ZEE5 on August 7, 2026, after a promising theatrical run. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu and featuring Bhagyashri Borse and Jagapathi Babu, Lenin will be available in multiple languages, expanding its reach beyond the big screen.

Malayalam star Roshan Mathew’s crime thriller Uyir, directed by Rajesh Nair, will premiere on JioHotstar on August 4. The film, which received positive reviews for its gripping narrative, will also be accessible in Telugu, catering to a wider audience.

Netflix brings two notable releases on August 7. Main Vaapas Aaunga, a romantic drama by Imtiaz Ali starring Vedang Raina, Sharvari, Diljit Dosanjh, and Naseeruddin Shah, arrives after earning praise for its emotional storytelling and music in theatres. However, this title will not be available in Telugu. Meanwhile, Idhayam Murali, a coming-of-age romance directed and produced by Aakash Baskaran under Dawn Pictures, features Atharvaa, Kayadu Lohar, Preity Mukhundhan, and a cameo by Fahadh Faasil. The Telugu dubbed version, Hrudayam Murali, will also be released.

Amazon Prime Video’s acclaimed Tamil crime thriller Vadhandhi returns with Season 2 on August 7, with M. Sasikumar reprising his role. The Telugu dubbed version will stream alongside the original.

Other highlights include Operation Safed Sagar on Netflix, a military drama about the Indian Air Force during the Kargil War, and the animated Super Mario Galaxy Movie on JioHotstar, both available in Telugu. Vijay Antony’s family drama Vandha Devullu (Nooru Saami in Tamil), directed by Sasi, also lands on ZEE5 the same day.

With this diverse lineup, Telugu audiences have a variety of genres and languages to explore across major OTT platforms this week.
