Ken Karunas’ directorial debut, Youth, which also stars the young filmmaker in the lead role, is making waves yet again—this time with its upcoming OTT release. The Tamil blockbuster, which grossed over ₹60 crores in Tamil Nadu alone, will begin streaming on Netflix from April 16, giving digital audiences a chance to experience its heartwarming coming-of-age story.

Ken, the son of popular comedian Karunas, has quickly come into his own, not just as an actor but also as a filmmaker and writer. Having worked as an assistant director on Dhanush's films like Vaathi and Thiruchitrambalam, Ken's transition to helming a feature has been lauded by critics and fans alike. Youth’s storyline follows 15-year-old Praveen on his quest to find true love before school ends, with lessons in heartbreak and maturity resonating strongly with young and family audiences.

The film boasts an impressive ensemble including Devadarshini, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anishma Anilkumar, Priyanshi Yadav, and Meenakshi Dinesh. Backed by producers Karuppiah C. Ram and Sulochana Kumar, and featuring a vibrant score by G.V. Prakash Kumar, Youth’s blend of humor, emotion, and nostalgia has led to a positive buzz on social media, especially after Netflix India South’s playful tweet: “Ada ennada ithu kaadhaluku vandha sodhanai? 🤭💔”.

With its multi-language release—streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam—Youth is set to capture new hearts beyond theatres. Fans who missed its theatrical run can now look forward to reliving the school days magic from April 16, as Ken Karunas’ next steps in cinema are eagerly awaited.
