Vijay's Jana Nayagan, Kiran Abbavaram's Chennai Love Story Lead OTT Premieres

Vijay's farewell film Jana Nayagan, which recently wrapped up a successful theatrical run as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026, is set for its digital debut on ZEE5 from August 21. The film features Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles, and will be available in multiple Indian languages, expanding its reach beyond Tamil audiences.

Kiran Abbavaram's Chennai Love Story, directed by Ravi Namburii and starring Sri Gouri Priya, also joins the OTT lineup after its strong box office performance. The romantic drama, which became a superhit in theatres, will premiere on SonyLIV on August 21 and will be accessible in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, catering to a diverse audience base.

In the Bollywood space, Welcome To The Jungle, the third film in the Welcome franchise, is making its way to Jio Hotstar after a decent theatrical run. Directed by Ahmed Khan and headlined by Akshay Kumar, the ensemble cast includes Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Suniel Shetty, and several other popular names. The film's OTT release is scheduled for August 21.

Other notable releases this week include Lanterns, a DC Universe live-action series starring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler, which began streaming on JioHotstar from August 17, and Toy Story 5, now available for rent or purchase on Prime Video and Apple TV. Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, starring Elan and Saanvi Meghana with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is set to premiere on Netflix in five languages on August 21.
