Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons has made a significant leap on Netflix’s global charts, overtaking Ravi Teja’s Irumudi in the latest rankings for non-English films. Both films have been in the spotlight for their strong performances on the streaming platform, with Irumudi previously holding the top position among Indian titles worldwide. Last week, Irumudi led the Netflix Global Top 10 for Non-English Films with 3.4 million views, while Vishwanath & Sons was at No. 5, drawing 2.1 million views.
The most recent data for the week of September 28 to October 4 shows a reversal in fortunes. Vishwanath & Sons now stands at No. 7 globally with 1.2 million views, just ahead of Irumudi, which has dropped sharply to No. 9 with 1.1 million views. This shift marks a notable turnaround, especially as Irumudi had enjoyed a strong debut and was celebrated as a major success for Ravi Teja and director Shiva Nirvana.
In the Indian market, Vishwanath & Sons has claimed the No. 1 spot, pushing Irumudi to second place. The drop in Irumudi’s global ranking has surprised many, as the film had previously dominated both the box office and streaming charts. Despite both films experiencing a decrease in viewership, Vishwanath & Sons has managed to maintain a lead over its competitor.
With these new rankings, the competition between the two films continues to draw attention, especially among Telugu cinema fans tracking their OTT performance.
