Aparna Cinemas to Launch New IMAX Screen in Hyderabad by 2028

Aparna Cinemas, the multiplex venture from real estate major Aparna Constructions, is set to bring a new IMAX experience to Hyderabad. The company is developing a 12-screen multiplex near Wipro Circle, with one of the screens slated to feature IMAX technology, according to recent updates.

Hyderabad holds a unique place in India's cinema history, as PRASADS introduced the country's first IMAX screen in the city. Despite the growth of multiplexes nationwide, Hyderabad has seen limited expansion in IMAX offerings. However, this trend is changing, with several top cinema chains now working to introduce more IMAX screens in the city. Asian Cinemas, for instance, has already finalized agreements to add two IMAX screens in Hyderabad.

Aparna Constructions' move into the multiplex sector marks a significant step for the company, which is best known for its real estate projects. Their upcoming 12-screen property near Wipro Circle is expected to enhance Hyderabad's cinema infrastructure, especially with the addition of an IMAX screen. As per the latest updates, construction is projected to be completed by 2028. An official announcement from Aparna Cinemas regarding the IMAX partnership is still awaited.

This development signals growing competition among multiplex operators in Hyderabad, aiming to provide moviegoers with premium viewing experiences. The addition of another IMAX screen is likely to be welcomed by film enthusiasts, especially as the city continues to attract major film releases and events.
