Chaitra J Achar leads the cast of '418', a horror thriller produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by Prashanth Neel. The film, directed by newcomer Kirtan Nadagouda, has attracted attention for its unconventional approach to promotion. While the movie's teasers and initial content generated curiosity among audiences, fans have noticed the absence of a typical marketing blitz leading up to its release.
At a recent press interaction, producer Mythri Ravi Shankar addressed questions about the film's low-key promotional campaign. He stated, “It is a horror film. We conducted a private screening in Bombay where the majority liked 418 calling it extraordinary. We have a strong belief in the content. It’s a pure horror film. We saw horror comedies like Maddock Universe and Prema Katha Chitram. It’s been a long time since we saw a proper horror film.”
Ravi Shankar further elaborated that the team wants '418' to rely on word of mouth rather than heavy advertising. He explained, “We wanted 418 to thrive on word of mouth. The horror genre itself carries craze, and we have planned paid premieres for the movie. People will talk about Chaitra J Achar’s performance in it for some time. If the movie scares you, it is superhit. We want the content to do the talking. Anil Thadani garu was heavily impressed with 418 and we planned a simultaneous release for it in Hindi as well.”
The film features Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju, Preethi Pagadala, Shashank Patil, and Ramesh Indira in key roles. With paid premieres and a focus on organic buzz, the makers are banking on the film's strong content and performances to connect with audiences.
