Tharun Bhascker Eyes Comeback With ENE After Acting Setbacks

Tharun Bhascker’s upcoming directorial project ENE is expected to help him regain his footing after a challenging period as an actor. Known for his impactful debut with Pelli Choopulu and subsequent direction of films like Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi and Keedaa Cola, Tharun transitioned into acting but has struggled to find similar success in front of the camera.

Despite his reputation as a talented filmmaker, Tharun’s acting ventures have not resonated with audiences. His recent film Crazy Kalyanam, released during the Dasara festival, was rejected by viewers and failed to draw crowds to theatres. This continues a trend, as several of his acting projects—including Meeku Maathrame Cheptha, Skylab, Masthu Shades Unnai Raa, Santhana Prapthirasthu, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, Gaayapadda Simham, and Keedaa Cola—have not managed to make an impact at the box office.

Industry observers note that while Tharun’s acting skills are considered decent, his film choices have not worked in his favor. According to reports, his recent releases have struggled to achieve even modest openings, raising questions about his future as an actor. The consensus is that he will need to be more selective with scripts going forward.

Currently, Tharun is directing ENE, which features Vishwak Sen in the lead role and is slated for release in November. The film’s performance is seen as crucial for Tharun, with many expecting it to mark a positive turn in his career after a series of setbacks as an actor.
