Andhra Software Exports Cross ₹5,000 Crore, Double in Two Years

Andhra Pradesh’s software exports through Software Technology Park (STP) units soared past ₹5,000 crore in 2025-26, more than doubling in just two years and marking a significant milestone for the state’s technology sector. Exports jumped from ₹2,325.70 crore in 2023-24 to an estimated ₹5,057.15 crore in 2025-26, reflecting a 117% increase and adding over ₹2,730 crore in value.
This sharp rise came as the state government, under IT, Electronics and Communications Minister Nara Lokesh, intensified its focus on technology investments and global capability centres. Lokesh’s strategy placed electronics manufacturing and employment generation at the core of Andhra Pradesh’s economic revival, with the latest export figures serving as a tangible sign of progress.
Despite the impressive growth, Andhra Pradesh’s STP base remains small, with just 31 registered units in 2025-26, compared to 280 in neighbouring Telangana. Telangana’s STP exports reached ₹1,13,101.83 crore in 2025-26, while Karnataka led the nation with about ₹3.5 lakh crore. Andhra Pradesh ranked eighth among Indian states and union territories in STP exports for 2025-26, trailing behind Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Kerala.
The figures, presented in Parliament by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology on August 12, highlight Andhra Pradesh’s rapid growth, even as it continues to build scale. The state’s challenge now is to sustain this momentum and expand its IT footprint further.
