Chandrababu Naidu’s ₹1 Lakh Crore Horticulture Hub Set for Rayalaseema

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced a monumental ₹1 lakh crore Global Horticulture Hub at Madanapalle, Annamayya district, marking a bold step toward reshaping Rayalaseema’s economic landscape. This ambitious project, revealed after inaugurating the Rayalaseema Steel Plant, is positioned as a game-changer for both agriculture and industry in the region.

Naidu, whose recent initiatives have focused on driving investment and growth across Andhra Pradesh, confirmed that the state government will allocate ₹40,000 crore, with the remaining ₹60,000 crore sourced from private investors. The Chief Minister highlighted that this hub will strengthen horticulture, foster food processing industries, create wide-ranging employment, and elevate farmers’ incomes. He pointed to the example of Lingala mandal in Pulivendula, where large-scale horticulture has resulted in a per capita income exceeding ₹7 lakh.

Irrigation projects like Gandikota and the completed Avuku tunnel have begun to improve water supply, further supporting agricultural expansion. Naidu assured that proper rehabilitation measures will be in place for families affected by such development projects. He also shared that major investors like JSW are interested in upcoming ventures including a Space City and Drone City in Tirupati district, and Gandikota is set for world-class tourism development.

With the foundation stone for the horticulture hub to be laid before August 15, Naidu reaffirmed his commitment to developing Amaravati as the state capital and propelling economic growth throughout Andhra Pradesh. All eyes are now on how this visionary undertaking will unfold in the coming months.
