Chandrababu Naidu Warns Coaching Centres Over Political Protests

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has issued a stern warning to private coaching centres, cautioning them against using competitive exam aspirants for political protests. This move comes after reports surfaced that some coaching centre managements were allegedly pressuring students to participate in agitations targeting the government.

The Chief Minister, who recently reviewed the situation with senior officials, directed that legal action be taken against any coaching institutions found violating government regulations. According to official statements, certain coaching centres have become platforms for political activity, with managements encouraging aspirants to join protests described by the government as attempts to malign its image.

Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that the primary purpose of these institutions is to prepare candidates for competitive examinations, not to serve as venues for political mobilization. He emphasized that the government will not tolerate coaching centre managements involving aspirants in what was described as "political conspiracies". The Chief Minister instructed authorities to enforce compliance with GO No. 9 and the Andhra Pradesh Coaching Institutions Regulation Rules, 2026, warning of strict action against those operating outside these guidelines.

Field-level officials have been tasked with monitoring coaching centres to ensure adherence to the rules. The government also advised aspirants to focus on their studies and not yield to pressure from coaching centre managements. While the official statement did not name any specific institutes or protests, it signaled increased scrutiny of the role private coaching centres play in recent agitations involving exam aspirants.
