Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed all government offices across the state to eliminate physical files and transition entirely to e-files within the next month. This move, announced during the eighth District Collectors’ Conference in Amaravati, marks a major step in the state’s push for technology-driven and data-centric governance.
Naidu emphasized the importance of resolving public grievances efficiently through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), instructing Collectors, MLAs, and mandal-level officials to conduct regular field visits to villages and municipalities. He insisted that details of these visits be documented and reviewed to ensure accountability and better service delivery.
Highlighting the need for advanced technology, Naidu called for the integration of deep-tech tools and AI-stack technology in every government department. He cited the use of AI in GST administration and revealed plans to deploy Legal AI tools to address the backlog of court cases. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining accurate, updated data in the State’s Data Lake for faster decision-making.
RTGS Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni noted that some district offices still rely on physical files and urged Collectors to complete the switch to e-Office within the month. He also pointed out the success of the AI-based PGRS platform, which has handled over 23,100 grievances via its chatbot feature, with districts like Nellore and Krishna leading in effective resolution.
Naidu further instructed officials to secure land records using blockchain technology, with real-time integration beginning November 1 and a 45-day deadline to upload backlog records. The government has already resolved 232 cases under the 22A prohibited-properties list, freeing nearly 31,000 acres valued at ₹5,000 crore and benefiting about one lakh people.
