Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for his upcoming film 'Lalkaara', has finally spoken out on the swirling 'Love Jihad' controversy that erupted following his recent marriage to Gauri Spratt. The actor, known for his selective yet impactful roles in Bollywood, finds himself in the eye of a social and political storm after tying the knot on July 5th.

His union with Gauri Spratt, celebrated in a private ceremony, faced immediate backlash from sections of religious leaders and political voices, including Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane. Allegations and heated debates on television and social media accused the couple of 'Love Jihad', a term used pejoratively to allege religious conversion through marriage. Aamir, however, set the record straight, emphasizing that “neither Gauri Spratt nor my former wives ever converted their religion.” He further added, “Life is getting more comical as time passes,” dismissing the debate as unnecessary and unfounded.

Aamir clarified that all his marriages, including those with Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, were civil and devoid of any religious conversion, reiterating his family's value of inclusivity. Despite the noise, the actor chose not to engage in public spats, but his direct response has now brought clarity to the discussion.

Professionally, Aamir Khan is set to begin work on 'Lalkaara', a sports drama directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and produced by Excel Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Shooting is expected to commence later this year, and fans await news on the project's casting and release details.
