Balakrishna-Koratala Siva film faces shelving rumors
Budget recovery doubts cited as main reason
No official statement from producers yet
High fan anticipation turns to uncertainty
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s upcoming film with director Koratala Siva, which had been launched with fanfare in June, now finds itself at the center of speculation following strong indications that the project might not proceed. Balakrishna, coming off a minor muscle injury during the shoot of his film with Gopichand Malineni, was slated to begin work on this new venture under the banners of SLV Cinemas and Yuvasudha Arts.
The collaboration attracted considerable attention, especially after reports surfaced that Anirudh Ravichander was on board as the music director. Regular shoot was initially planned to commence in October 2026. However, industry chatter now points to the possibility of shelving the project, with one of the reasons cited being doubts about the film’s ability to recover its budget in the current market climate.
While fans had high hopes for this partnership, and social media discussions reflected significant anticipation, the persistent rumours have shifted the conversation to concern and uncertainty. The production houses have yet to break their silence or provide a clear update, keeping the status of the film ambiguous.
This period also marks a challenging phase for Koratala Siva, who is already contending with delays and questions around his other project, Devara 2. The fate of his collaboration with Balakrishna now remains unresolved, with industry observers looking to the producers for clarity.
