When the Jr NTR and Trivikram Srinivas reunion was finally announced, the first-look poster for the mythological project tentatively titled God of War, based on Lord Subrahmanya (Murugan) arrived carrying the tagline about one spear and one divine reckoning, with a trident and spear merging alongside a DNA motif. The combination alone was enough to set fan expectations soaring.
Yet within hours, the celebration curdled. A loud section of social media spotted what looked like AI-generated imagery in the artwork and called it a disservice to a project of this scale. Critics argued the background and overall design simply didn't match the grandeur such a tentpole film promises. Tellingly, fan-made edits offering richer, more immersive visuals began circulating almost immediately an awkward signal when amateurs outshine the official launch.
This wasn't an isolated stumble; NTR's Dragon teaser drew nearly identical complaints just a month earlier. The lesson for producers is plain. On a high-budget mythological epic, the announcement poster is the first handshake with millions of devotees. Spending wisely doesn't mean shortcutting craft with quick AI renders to save time and money. A real shoot, genuine artists, and unhurried design would have honored both the deity and the audience.
Still, it's only the announcement, and the real film lies ahead. With Trivikram's writing and NTR's screen presence behind it, God of War carries genuine promise and an early misstep on a poster is easily redeemed by getting the storytelling, scale, and devotion right where it truly counts. The anticipation remains sky-high for good reason.
