Director Sudha Kongara, known for her recent work on the high-profile film Parasakthi starring Sivakarthikeyan, has faced a significant setback as the Madras High Court refused to halt the release of Idhayam Murali. Kongara approached the court seeking an interim injunction, alleging that producer Dawn Pictures still owed her ₹8.39 crore from her contracted remuneration for Parasakthi.

The ongoing legal tussle has kept industry watchers and fans engaged, with Sudha Kongara insisting that Dawn Pictures should not be permitted to launch another film until her dues were cleared. According to her petition, her total fee for Parasakthi was ₹17.70 crore (inclusive of GST), of which only ₹9.31 crore has been paid so far. Earlier, the court had temporarily restrained the satellite rights of Parasakthi while it examined the payment controversy.

However, the court’s latest order made it clear that financial disputes alone would not be grounds to block Idhayam Murali’s theatrical debut. This development ensures Idhayam Murali will arrive in cinemas as planned, even as the remuneration dispute continues to unfold in the courtroom.

With the payment issue unresolved and the legal battle ongoing, all eyes will now be on Sudha Kongara’s next move and the court’s final decision.
