Akkineni Nagarjuna’s ambitious film "Lenin" has hit screens with much fanfare, but the project is being viewed as a high-risk venture, especially considering Akhil Akkineni’s unpredictable box office history. Nagarjuna, who has been closely involved with every stage of Lenin’s development, from pre-production through post-production, has placed significant faith in the film’s outcome.

Lenin, co-produced by S Naga Vamsi, saw its budget soar to a hefty ₹50 crores following several reshoots and extended production timelines. According to reports, the team spared no expense, focusing on delivering grand visuals and high production values. Reflecting their confidence, Nagarjuna and Naga Vamsi chose not to sell theatrical rights, instead releasing the film themselves through Annapurna Studios in Nizam and via Naga Vamsi’s distribution in Andhra Pradesh.

While non-theatrical rights have already brought in ₹35 crores, the theatrical performance remains crucial for overall recovery. The makers are hopeful, as positive word of mouth and early box office trends suggest they might recoup their investment by the weekend. However, with Akhil’s recent films having struggled to make a mark, the stakes are undeniably high for all involved.

Industry watchers are keenly observing Lenin’s box office trajectory, and its performance in the coming days will determine if this calculated gamble pays off for Nagarjuna and his team.
