Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest film, Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), has unfortunately opened to lacklustre response in the Telugu market, marking a rare setback for the actor-director known for recent crowd-pleasers.
Coming off a hat-trick of hits like Love Today, Dragon, and Dude, Pradeep Ranganathan had set high expectations among fans. However, the prolonged delays in LIK’s production sapped much of its buzz, and the film’s arrival has been met with underwhelming enthusiasm. The project, steered by director Vignesh Shivan and produced by Nayanthara, was anticipated to deliver another success but has instead struggled to draw crowds—occupancy in Telugu states remains notably low.
Word of mouth has only hastened the film’s decline, with negative reviews circulating not just in Telugu but also in the Tamil market. Reports state, "The word of mouth killed the film and LIK will struggle to survive over the first weekend." To make matters worse, the strong box office presence of Dacoit has diverted much of the audience’s attention. Critics have pointed out the bland writing and weak narration as significant factors, calling LIK a "speed breaker" in Pradeep’s string of hits.
Despite this disappointment, all eyes are now on Pradeep Ranganathan’s next move, especially as top production house Mythri Movie Makers is reportedly backing his upcoming project with a substantial budget. Fans will be keen to see how he bounces back from this unexpected stumble.
