Ram Gopal Varma has reignited excitement by announcing the fourth installment of his acclaimed Sarkar franchise, titled Sarkar 4. Known for his impactful films in the past, Varma has been experimenting with new projects lately, including the recent release Police Station Mein Bhoot starring Manoj Bajpayee.
The Sarkar series, which originally starred Amitabh Bachchan as the formidable Subhash Nagre and featured Abhishek Bachchan as Shankar Nagre, has been a cult political drama since 2005. Varma revealed plans to start shooting Sarkar 4 next month, promising a "much wider and more expansive world" for this sequel. However, he confirmed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will not be part of the project, quashing earlier rumors. Despite enthusiasm, Varma has also hinted at the possibility of shelving Sarkar 4 due to the success of Dhurandhar, leaving fans curious about its final fate.
In parallel, Varma is collaborating with director Aditya Dhar for a new film titled Syndicate, produced by Dhar’s own banner. This multistarrer will explore the dark nexus between terror outfits like Al Qaeda and ISIS and Indian political systems. Varma described Syndicate as an homage to Dhar, signaling a fresh creative direction. The director expressed that Syndicate would "wash away all my sins," indicating his intent to make a significant impact with this film.
With Sarkar 4's legacy anchored by Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan and Syndicate promising a gripping narrative, Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming projects are poised to capture audience attention. Updates on both films are eagerly awaited as production gears up.
