Originally, fans expected a glimpse of Ramayana on the auspicious occasion of Shri Rama Navami, a traditional day for epic updates. However, the makers surprised audiences by announcing that the first glimpse featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama will instead be unveiled on Hanuman Jayanti, April 2, 2026. Produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios and co-produced by DNEG alongside Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film boasts a powerhouse cast including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. With music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer and a screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan, Ramayana is set to be India’s first film designed for IMAX, slated for a Diwali 2026 release.
