Sai Pallavi’s 'Ek Din' debuts on OTT after box office failure

Film not available for streaming in India, rental-only overseas

Dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions accessible for international viewers

Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, co-produced by Mansoor Khan

Sai Pallavi’s recent Bollywood outing, 'Ek Din', has finally landed on OTT platforms, but not without a couple of unexpected surprises for fans. The actress, who is currently immersed in high-profile projects like 'Ramayana' and 'OM', had generated significant buzz with this romantic drama, yet the film struggled at the box office after its May 2026 release.

Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions with Mansoor Khan as co-producer, 'Ek Din' paired Sai Pallavi with Junaid Khan. The film, an official remake of the Thai hit 'One Day', was also dubbed and released in Telugu as 'Oka Roju'. However, the Telugu version saw an even weaker response, failing to make a mark among audiences despite the anticipation.

The digital release of 'Ek Din' comes with two notable twists. Firstly, the film is currently not available for streaming in India, a move that has left many domestic fans disappointed. Secondly, international viewers can only access the movie on a rental basis, rather than through a standard subscription. Adding to the intrigue, the film is also offered in Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions for overseas audiences, broadening its reach beyond the Hindi-speaking diaspora.

With Sai Pallavi’s star power and the unique OTT release strategy, fans are keen to see if 'Ek Din' finds a second life online. As the actress continues to focus on her upcoming big-budget projects, all eyes are on her next moves and whether her future releases will fare better both in theatres and on digital platforms.
